Another Picture or Two ![]() A member of the neighborhood CatWatch almost catches a squirrel who scoots around on the tree screaming (LOUDLY) at the cat. ![]() Whilst the Catwatch is temporarily distracted by a human with a camera, the squirrel continues to hurl insults at it. Eventually the Catwatch gave up. The squirrel continued to scream for a few more minutes, then finally went away. Friday, June 23, 2006
Just a Picture A Linkdump Blog@Newsrama has joined my campaign for Entourage Aquaman t-shirts. Augie has The Best News of the Year So Far. More Monkey Talk with Paul Dini. Ah... the chickens tell the truth. Snopes tells us about a free offer that benefits research... and Merck. Another one from Snopes on a magician pulling a woman apart. Just because they are "well-respected" doesn't mean they are honest. Scummy map-dealer sliced up library books for rare maps. The Moons of Saturn in motion, via the Bad Astronomer. The story of Taylor Knoblock gives me hope for the future. Lost Girls making problems already. I still don't know if I want the book. I've never much liked starlings. I did very poorly on this quiz. Via Mah Two Cents. And in honor of the previous link: Cats who look like Hitler. Thursday, June 22, 2006
Linkage List of fictional expletives. I find this post more interesting for its new way to link to Wikipedia^ than for the content. What you need to always make exact change. Wednesday, June 21, 2006
Write to HBO! Hey everyone! If you are an Aquaman or Entourage fan, here's what I want you to do... Go to this page and submit a request for an Aquaman T-shirt from the Entourage show! For the subject line, put "Entourage Aquaman T-Shirt?" and for the content, just request a t-shirt based on the Aquaman movie in the show, and maybe thank them for the show while you are at it. I'll be checking the HBO Entourage Shop regularly, but I would so buy an Aquaman T-shirt with that design on it. So let's start a wave. Write in and ask for it. Tuesday, June 20, 2006
I wanna be your Superhero... Via Querldox: a six year old girl got the Make-a-Wish foundation to let her be a superhero for a day. The entire town pitched in to help. Aubrey, aka "Star," has optic glioma, a brain tumor behind her eyes. But it didn't stop her as she foiled crimes and chased her arch-nemesis, Black (named for the character on Neighborhood Watch signs), through the city of Boise, followed by a cavalcade of police cars. Links and a Rant Leonard Kirk's Balls Part III. The List of what's happened since Duke Nukem Forever was first announced. I particularly like the list of thing that have taken less time: "The Beatles formed, released every single one of their albums and broke up." Paul Cornell on Top Trumps. Odd how characters are rated for games. Dave makes a point. And well, I thought. Why speculating on comics is stupid. Stick Figures In Peril. Ouch. Ug. I wonder where the girl's parents were. There's all this freaking out about the internet being a haven for predators, but if parents were actually parenting and not relying on the internet to provide entertainment for their kids (which is kind of like telling a kid to go play in Grand Central Station and expecting nothing bad to ever happen), then these problems wouldn't be happening. So where were the girl's parents while she was arranging to meet this guy? Why didn't they stop this? I don't love MySpace, but blaming them for a girl being stupid is... well, stupid. By all means, punish the man who committed assault, but why blame MySpace? Are they going to sue the phone company that allowed the guy to call her, too? Entourage and Aquaman Apparently without explanation, the folks behind Entourage took out this ad in Variety: ![]() Just in case you missed the episode and didn't know how well the movie was doing... If anyone can get me a copy of this issue of Variety with the ad, please contact me. Sunday, June 18, 2006
